number five with Turmeric paste. Turmeric is commonly used in Southeast Asian
communities for healing wounds. A potent antioxidant compound called “curcumin”
present in this spice is known to have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory and pain
relieving properties. One study looked at the effect of a gel containing 2 percent
curcumin on mouth ulcers. Applying this ointment significally
reduced the size of mouth ulcers as well as pain compared to a placebo.
You can try applying a thick paste of turmeric powder and water with a cotton
swab to heal your mouth ulcers. Wash off after 15 to 20 minutes. On number
four we got cayenne pepper. When you have a mouth ulcer you probably want to avoid
spicy foods, after all spicy foods can really irritate canker sores and mouth
ulcers and make them even more painful. The properties in certain spices like cayenne
pepper may help to soothe canker sores. Cayenne pepper is full of a chemical
called capsaicin. Capsaicin makes chilli and Cayenne spicy. It can also inhibit
substance P, which is a chemical in the body that causes inflammation. Studies
also show that it can inhibit bacterial growth. To use Cayenne for our canker sore,
mouth ulcer remedy, get some cayenne and add water to make a paste. Use a cotton
swab to apply this paste to your canker sore. Apply this two to three times a day.
This will help with pain relief and healing. On number 3 we got
swishing with saltwater. Saltwater is a natural disinfectant, it can be a great
natural remedy for canker sores and mouth ulcers. At the first sign of a
canker sore or mouth ulcer, swish with salt water. This will relieve your pain and
speed up the healing process. Dissolve one teaspoon of sea salt or another
natural salt in half a cup of warm water. Swish around in your mouth for
about 30 seconds, then spit out and then rinse your mouth with some fresh water.
On number two we got chamomile tea. Chamomile is good for more than just a pre-
bedtime tea. It contains different Daisy like plants and they can help relax you
and aid healthy digestion. It has been shown to contain chemical
compounds that have antiseptic abilities. Flavonoids such as luteolin, Apigenin and
Quercetin present in this herb give it anti-inflammatory properties. These
enable the herb to sooth the mucous membrane lining your mouth. Besides the
fact that chamomile has soothing results for canker sores and mouth ulcers, it can
also help speed up the healing time. You can try
chamomile by drinking warm tea or placing a Chamomille tea bag on the sore.
So here we are at number 1, which is clove oil. Clove oil is a valuable
natural remedy for canker sores and mouth ulcers. The active ingredient is
eugenol which acts as a painkiller. Dentists have long used clove oil to
help their patients. Clove oil can be applied directly to canker sores and
mouth ulcers for relief. You can also make a mouth rinse from clove oil. First
swish your mouth with salt water then apply 1/2 a teaspoon of olive oil to a
cotton ball. Top this off with four or five drops of clove oil. Then apply the
cotton ball directly to your mouth ulcer for up to 10 minutes. This will give you
pain relief and help will help heal your mouth ulcers faster. Ok and now here
is some important general advice which I promised you. Which is avoid sodium
lauryl sulfate based toothpaste. Research shows that sodium lauryl
sulfate, which is a detergent president some toothpastes, can potentially cause
canker sores and mouth ulcers. It is thought to do this by removing the protective
layer of mucin in your mouth. Once study found that merely using a sodium
lauryl sulfate free toothpaste for three months
reduced the number of canker sores and mouth ulcersfrom arising.
