Kilian Jornet – How do I train (again and again)

Hi, my name is Kilian Jornet,
I’m 30 years old and I’ve been training for 30 years Actually I started training when I was a kid. My parents were doing a lot of mountaineering
activities, a lot of sport. Afterwards I realised that it was
a perfect introduction to endurance sports. At that moment it was like playing
in the mountains and it was just fun. So I think that the inflection point
was when I was 13 years old, I was a very energetic kid so I needed to focus
my energy on something productive so i entered in the ski mountaineering
technification center in Catalunya to don’t do sport only for the fun of the day but to practise on a certain way
to be perfect the day of the goal I am 30 years old and
I’ve been training for 30 years. My weeks are 7 days training If you don’t have pleasure while you train,
you’ll never improve. All the years before training when I was a kid,
it was a good endurance training. I think when we are children our body is much
more elastic so we can adapt much more to the changes At the time I was in the high school,
normally I was going in the morning for a run, some days I was going from home to school,
there were like 23km running. In the weekends I was able to go
to the snow to do longer runs. When I was a children I was a lot outside It was a good endurance training. I am 30 years old and I’ve been training for 30 years My weeks are 7 days training. Another thing I think is important when you
start doing sport is to have a medical following mostly to avoid problems. So actually when I entered in the ski
mountaineering technification center we started to do like biotechnical tests
and echocardiograms every year 7 days training. A lot outside. For 30 years. Well I was good. It was on recovering I was able to recover very fast from being at Vo2 max or at 200 pulsations per minute and with a high lactate. and one minute after I was already at 75 pulsations. Hi, I’m 30 years old,
and I have been training for 30 years. All the years of training when I was a kid,
It was a good endurance training From 13 years old to 17 years old I was training
with my coach and they were saying “you need to do that or to do these intervals and do that…” And since I was 17 years old
I started to train by myself I started training by myself,
to be perfect at the day of the goal. My doctor says that is important
to do some rest in the year. I try to do one easy week in the year
to recover the body but it hasn’t been working so far for the last years. One year we tried to do that with Emelie, we went to an island to try
to be in the beach and resting and actually it was the second day that Emelie said: “Do you think we can change the ticket planes
and go home and start to ski?” Because, yes, it didn’t work. Mostly training is a lot of trying and failing,
trying and failing, trying and failing and one time you try and you have a good feeling,
so then you keep that. But to do that there are a lot of times
you have to fail. The last years I’ve prefered to do long days,
and to be out a lot of hours and then using short races and vertical km to do more specific train, to do short intervals and using longer races to use other kind of intensity but yeah I haven’t used much other things
than races as specific training All the years before training when I was a kid
it was a good endurance training. Training is a lot of trying and failing,
trying and failing, trying and failing If we take last year as an example,
we can see I have been doing 1.200h of training Normally my weeks are 7 days training. Normally in the morning I do a long
training between 2-5 hours and 1:30h training in the afternoon,
and that’s every day during the week If it’s racing week normally I do
one or two rest days before the race but if not, I normally don’t rest
any other time during the year Hi my name is Kilian Jornet and
I’ve been training for 30 years

  1. What a bad post edition… It is copied from Casey Neistat videos but without his talent. It tries to be good but it's just terrible.
Seriously no one can tell him the correct way to say: I HAVE been. It is repeated the WHOLE video!! (Of course it's not his fault)

  2. Remember, he has been training for 30 years 7 days training for 30 years he is 30 years old training all days training

  3. Now that's how to train. Great video!Just one question, what is Minimum FC? I googled it with absolutely no result connectetd to medicine or sports. Thanks.

  4. Great emphasis on repetitiveness of training routine. Very inspirational video! And of course, Kilian is a great guy and probably the greatest athlete of all times!

  7. His vo2 is 92? Ok, I believe that. He trains twice a day? I believe that. He trains five hours in the morning plus one thirty afternoon seven days, all year, with one rest per year? You can believe that if you want.

  8. Tio, si no saben hablar ingles, porqué no poner subtítulos en inglés y hablar en español, que al menos será más normal
