GRE Vocab Word of the Day: Pellucid | Manhattan Prep


Today’s word is pellucid, meaning clear or
transparent. You could have a pellucid lake, for example,
which would be a lake that’s very clear. I think of it as the opposite of a polluted
lake, which would be murky. A pellucid lake is not. It’s very clear. You could also have pellucid writing. A pellucid paragraph, pellucid prose. And in that context I think of it as being
like the word lucid, which is used more often, so you may be familiar with it. It means expressed clearly. Pellucid is the same thing, so pellucid writing
