COLLEGE KIDS EAT NORWEGIAN SNACKS! | College Kids Vs. Food

– That’s dangerous, actually.
Get that away from me. – I take back every
scary thought I had. This is so good. ♪ (French accordion music) ♪ – (FBE) So today,
you’re gonna be trying Norwegian snacks.
– Yay. I love eating. – Ooh, okay.
That sounds fun. I love tasting new foods. – I’m worried it’s gonna be
extreme, ’cause I don’t know that much
about Norwegian food. – The only thing that I think
of when I hear Norway, is the line from Book of Mormon
when he’s like, “Norway, the land of gnomes
and trolls.” So hopefully it’s not
gnomes. – I’ve never even tried
anything Norwegian at all, so I’m kind of excited about it. – Probably something a little
bland. Either that or salty.
So, it’ll be interesting. – (FBE) So, there are a lot
of snacks that the subscribers have asked
us to have you try, so we got several for
this episode and may do more snack at another time.
– I do like more snacks. That’s a good idea. – I’m a little scared about this one,
but yeah, let’s do it. – (FBE) Here is your first
snack to try. – Ooh, okay,
so this is bread. – It’s a hard-boiled egg
with something else on top of it. – That’s delicious.
What is that on top, though? I can’t quite place it.
It’s like meat out of a tube, but that sounds disgusting
and this is delicious. – For some reason at first,
it kinda tasted like a regular ham sandwich
and the more it kept going, it turned to fish. – I usually like fish,
but this is so salty. Almost like a smokiness
to it. To me, the saltiness kind of
overpowers everything else. – It’s very on the salty side
and it lingers for a very long time. – I don’t know if I’d go
out of my way to eat it, but it’s pretty good.
It’s mostly salty and I’m into salty stuff,
so it’s fine. – (FBE) So, this is a smoked
kaviar paste. It is made from cod roe.
It is delicious on bread or crisp bread that is
especially good paired with an egg. – So, this is what it’s like
to be rich. This is really surprisingly good
and the thing is, if you had told me
it was kaviar beforehand, I probably would have hated it,
’cause I hate fish. – I’ve never had kaviar
and/or kaviar paste, so it’s exciting to try.
I like it a lot. Thanks, guys. – (FBE) Okay, so here’s
your next. – Okay, so I feel like
this is gonna be fishy again. It smells like tuna. – This one looks more
like cat food. – It reminds me of third grade
when we used to play with molding clay and stuff. – All right, here we go. It tastes a lot like your typical
French pâté, so I actually kind of like it. – It tastes oniony.
I like it. It’s good. – It tastes kind of like
tortellini or ravioli gone bad, but I’m not opposed to it. – (FBE) So, this is
a Norwegian pork liver pâté and it’s a popular kids’ snack.
– This is why I don’t trust kids in general.
Why would you eat liver as a snack? – It’s good.
I like it. I would eat it if I was a kid.
I would eat it right now. Obviously, I had no problem
with that one. – (FBE) Here is your next snack.
– Is it chocolate? What’s on the inside
of the chocolate? Is it kaviar? – This looks real scary.
I feel like they even knew that this wasn’t something
that they’d want to eat on their own, so they had
to dip it in chocolate to make it better. – Are these chocolate
covered Bugles? – There’s a little corn chip,
but this has chocolate on it. That’s good. – Yeah, these are good.
A lot better than I thought and the chocolate’s
really good, too. – Very crunchy. They taste like chocolate
covered pretzels. – Oh my gosh,
this is wonderful. I take back every scary thought
I had. This is so good. – (FBE) This is called Smash.
It is a lightly salted corn snack covered in milk chocolate.
– It’s good. I would eat that.
That’s dangerous, actually. Get that away from me. – This is a ten out of ten.
I could see Americans eating this constantly.
I might just have to buy some for myself.
This is amazing. – (FBE) Here’s your next.
– Obviously, it’s a cracker with mayonnaise?
I don’t know what those little specks are. – It looks like mayonnaise
with bacon bits in it, which bothers me,
’cause that doesn’t sound like it goes well together. – Let’s go. It tastes like a melted
string cheese. I think if I kept eating it,
I would grow to like it. – It’s really creamy.
That tastes really cheesy. Really light, too. – It tastes a little bit
like cream cheese, but with an extra kick to it. – (FBE) So, this is cream cheese
with reindeer flavoring called renost.
It has mild gamy flavor to it. – I’m so sorry, Rudolf.
I’m sorry. – I definitely would not
have guessed that. That really took me by surprise. – Cheese and meat and crackers,
that’s my thing. Maybe I’m a little bit
Norwegian. – (FBE) Here’s your next one.
– Yay. Okay, this looks good.
I love chocolate and anything sweet. – It seems to be just chocolate.
It has some type of crane or some bird on it. – They have really good chocolate.
American chocolate’s a lot more rich.
I feel like this is more smooth and less sweet. – I’ll eat the whole square. That’s good.
There’s a citrusy taste in the chocolate for me.
God, that’s good. It’s like silky.
It’s so good. – That is delicious and
I’m taking all of it. This tastes like the kind
of candy that you would get if you were touring
a chocolate factory and they were like,
“Here’s some free samples of candy you’ll never
be able to afford. And here, we have candy.” – (FBE) Okay, so this
is milk chocolate with chopped hazelnuts
made by the company Freia, but I might be saying this wrong.
– I like it a lot. Imported chocolates
or chocolates from a different country,
it’s really good, ’cause you can tell the sugar
is different, or what they use is different
than it is here. – That is some good chocolate
and I don’t even like chocolate that much.
I’m not a chocolate person. – I feel like we as Americans
are missing out on a lot of really good snacks,
because we’re limiting ourselves to our own waters.
Explore the rest of the world through food.

  2. 1. Liver pâté or Leverpostei. is eaten for lunch.
Taste good and naturally rich in iron and therefore one of the best sources to ensure a smooth and good iron intake.
    2. Reindeer cheese(NOT reindeer)/ham and cheese Skinke og ost. Yes we also have bacon and cheese as well bacon og ost. 😉
Milk chocolate with hazelnuts /melke sjokolade med hasselnøtter.

  3. Except for the last one, this could be a Swedish video as well! fun to watch though. I was hoping that Norway was a bit different then Sweden because love watching different cultures but I can’t complain haha

  4. The two first ones and the fourth aren't snacks! Lmao, we just have them on bread, like ham or jam and stuff. Woww.
